Privacy Policy

FolioNails ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Data you provide: Client names, phone numbers, emails, photos, formulas, appointment details, payment records, and private notes you enter into the app.

Account data: If you create an account via Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and optionally your name and email. We do not receive your Apple password.

Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not track your behavior across apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide app features (portfolio, client management, scheduling, payments)
  • To sync your data across devices if you enable cloud backup
  • To process AI feature requests (text-only prompts sent to our secure server, never photos)
  • To manage your subscription through Apple's App Store

3. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device by default. If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security. Each user can only access their own data.

Photos are stored locally on your device and optionally uploaded to Cloudinary for cloud backup. Photos are stored in private, authenticated folders.

4. Data Sharing

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following services solely to provide app functionality:

  • Supabase — Cloud database and authentication (if you enable sync)
  • Cloudinary — Photo cloud storage (if you enable sync)
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI text generation (text prompts only, no photos, no client data stored)

5. AI Features

When you use AI features (caption generation, client summaries, reminders), a text prompt is sent to our secure edge function which forwards it to Anthropic's API. We do not send photos, and prompts are not stored or used for training. AI features require authentication.

6. Your Rights

  • Export: You can export all your data as a JSON file from Settings at any time.
  • Delete: You can delete all data from Settings, or delete your account entirely to remove all cloud data.
  • Offline: The app works fully offline. Cloud sync is always optional.

7. Children's Privacy

FolioNails is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
